Our shipment arrived in country last monday and they brought it to our house on Wednesday. I had no idea it would get to us that quickly. It is great to have our stuff here, especially our living room furniture and the boys toys. We live on a pretty narrow street and people park on the street. We grabbed a spot out in front of our house as soon as one opened up and waited for the truck to arrive.
"By appointment of her Majety the Queen" is a really big deal here. Apparently this company helps move the queens personal belongings when she moves from one palace to another. The movers were wearing ties when they arrived and asked if it would be alright to take them off. They said they NEVER take them off when they are at the palaces. Our dear friends from Jordan were in town for some meetings!! Judy was a HUGE help and came and watched the boys for us.
So, European houses are not built for american furniture. Our living room is on the second floor and we have a narrow little stair case that turns as it goes up. I am sure there is a more technical term but Allen isn't here. Anyways, they tried multiple times and in several different ways to get our couch up. At one point, I was trying to convince myself that if the couch had to go in the garage till October it would be ok! However after a gentle shove from Allen, they got it up. I am trying to not think about getting it out in a couple of months...
