On Saturday Allen and I had a great day in the city on a Christian Heritage walk. The pastor at our church has just an amazing amount of knowledge and he took us on a walk through the city. We went to a bunch of places so this is just the highlights. This is a memorial to the end of the slave trade in the british empire.
This is a church in the heart of the financial district. It is a long story but basically a pastor came to this church where there were no church goers. But he started a weekday lunch time service with a hymn, preaching and a hymn for people on their lunch break. Since the 60's it has grown back into a thriving church. How amazing are the words of our Heavenly Father. They will never pass away. This church was hit during an IRA bombing in the 80's and in rebuilding they placed this above the door.A starbucks break.
John Wesley's church.
John Bunyan's grave, with a picture from Pilgrims Progress.
This is Westminster, where the latest wedding was. However, these are martyrs from the last 50 years.
Lastly we ended our day with a little Mexican food. We had a great time and the boys had fun with Emily. It was nice to not have a mommy purse and have some adult conversation.
