Ben's Bedouin Themed Room

When Allen and I first started talking about Ben's room and what we should do for it, we had no clue. However, we thought it would be neat to use stuff from here and make it feel like the country side here where people live in tents, ride camels, sit on the floor, and have sheep. Allen had the great idea to make a tent. I made pillows for us to sit on the ground with. We bought a cool rug off the street and of course the camel. We also found these fun pictures. One is of the country side, an olive tree and sheep. The other is of a camel caravan. I am sure we will continue to have additions to add to his room.

I have had fun sewing for this little guy. The bumper was from here but it did not fit the crib and was Scooby Doo themed. So I cut it to the right size and covered it. It also had a comforter that came with it and so I covered it and tacked the duvet cover in place. I made the pillows for the floor and sewed the tent after Allen designed it. The boppy cover I brought from the states but I made the pillow for it to go over. We had a mattress that was way to small for the crib, so Allen cut it and formed the lip on either side for the changing table pad. We brought the cover from the states as well.

I brought back a couple of things from when Allen was a baby and when I was a baby. The shoes were Allens. I also have his outfit he wore home from the hospital and his baby blanket. Thank you Trudy! The silver mug was mine and the spoon was mine as a child. I remember having "coffee" with my dad as a child while he had his quiet time. I think it was mostly milk, but I sure felt special!
