Introducing Humphrey

We bought a camel for Ben a couple of weeks ago. Allen has had fun playing with him and pretending to take care of him like we would Ben. Allen realized a couple of weeks ago that we did not have a name for the camel. He was so excited when he came up with the name Humphrey. Very clever! Once we got the stroller Allen and Humphrey went for several turns around the apartment. Made an obstacle course just to see how the stroller and Humphrey would hand the ride. Then last night, Allen put the car seat base in the car and we took Humphrey for a ride. We HAD to try out the five point harness on the car seat and make sure it was safe and secure. I am loving seeing Allen so excited about having a son! So, here are pictures of Humphrey.

We have some friends that take a picture with a stuffed camel every month to show how their little son is growing. I think it is a great idea and will copy it once Ben arrives.

In the crib, before we bought the car seat.

Testing out the five point harness. Of course, Ben won't have the humps so he will be more comfortable!

  1. What no photos practicing diaper changes on Humphrey? I'd also recommend the following practice:

    * Find the most annoying alarm clock you can find.
    * Break off the switch that turns the alarm off.
    * Set the alarm for 7 minutes from now.
    * Strap it to Humphrey and see if rocking, singing, shushing, bouncing, etc. makes him stop.

The good news is that its only occasionally that crazy. Enjoy every minute!

  2. Sara and Allen!
This post made my day. I laughed so hard at Humphrey in the car seat and with his "favorite" blanket. Too funny! I am so excited for you guys and can't believe its already time for Ben. Thanks for all of your fun posts - I am looking forward to seeing him grow. Aren't blogs fabulous??

Sara, you will so enjoy touching your toes again. In my experience, the weight goes away gradually on its on over about 6 weeks and you only have 5-10 lbs to actually lose. And even those you won't stress over too much b/c you have this great little person to cuddle and love.

We'll be thinking of you and hoping all goes well!
