So, last week I asked my friend, Sue, to go with me to pick out chocolates for Benjamin. She took me to a shop that is a lot like Michaels. They have all kinds of ribbons, different trinkets and decorations. They have several display cases of samples. But you can also design your own. They like things gaudie here so it was pretty hard to find a nice balance of cute baby and still partaking in the tradition. We had a great time, figuring out how to decorate the chocolates and the display area. Sue did a great job helping me and translating to the ladies at the store that I wanted things simple! After we picked out how we wanted the chocolate decorated, we went to the chocolate shop and tasted a "variety" until we found the right chocolate. I picked two, a mint patty and a creamy milk chocolate filled one. YUMMY! We brought the chocolates back to the shop and they prepared them for me. I am really excited about how they turned out.
Here are pictures of the chocolates and tray, now we just need Ben to show up...
Now that's a tradition I wouldn't mind adopting! :) Mmmm!
